You know how sometimes you read something and it reminds you of a song? (I've been reading hq and let me tell you this happens to me A Lot.) The opposite of that also happens to me sometimes wherein I'm listening to a song and it takes me back to a good read, which in recent times has mostly been fic for me. I've been wanting to talk about this for a month or so but time ran away from me, so the song I picked is a July release but I hope to keep sharing more of these a bit more regularly.

This is basically just another way for me to share media I love by drawing links to it from other media I love. I'll admit that these are connections that might not be obvious to anyone else because I'm not really going off lyrics or themes so much as the feeling something evokes in me. I hope it makes sense nonetheless.

The song I picked for this first post was Dive by Jinyoung, which inspired me to start these recs in the first place--well, that, and this a/n on one of the hq chapters where the creator says that they loves movie soundtracks and wonders what a soundtrack for their manga would sound like...I think about that note often, it really struck a chord with me. And so here I am.

Summary: It's the second part of a two-part series where JK is an artist and Yoongi is a marine biologist and here they reunite in Seoul, years after they first met. There's a lot of intropection and self-doubt...a given, since it's JK pov. The section where it's just JK's monologue feels like he's speaking underwater.

Favourite Line: “Tell me about a cool fish,” Jeongguk asks, and he swears Yoongi just about has a stroke.

iii. 無人知曉 by kisoap

Pairing: Wonwoo/Junhui

Rating: G, 1k-ish

Summary: Repressed Wonu....idolverse setting..there's not much beyond this you have to say to me to get me to read a fic and this is written for a prompt for Anne Carson's Red Doc, and so gorgeously. The pool confession has to be one of my favourite scenes from 17hols.

Favourite Line: "In truth, the things Wonwoo wanted most desperately he swallowed down so deep that they could not be removed from his person, surgically or otherwise."
